FAQ
What does glycolic acid do for the skin?
Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that gently removes dead skin cells from the surface. With regular use, it smooths rough texture, brightens dull skin and helps dark spots fade over time.
Is this glycolic acid toner good for oily and acne-prone skin?
Yes. It helps keep pores clear of dead skin and oil, which can reduce clogged pores and bumps. Use it 2 to 3 evenings a week with a light, oil-free moisturiser.
Can I use it if I have dry or sensitive skin?
Yes, with care. The formula is fragrance-free, which suits sensitive skin better. Start with 1 to 2 evenings a week and follow with a rich moisturiser. Patch test on your jawline for 3 nights first, and stop if you feel burning or see lasting redness.
Is this glycolic acid toner fragrance-free?
Yes. It contains no added fragrance, which makes it a gentler choice for sensitive skin. Still patch test first, as glycolic acid itself can tingle on sensitive skin.
How often should I use glycolic acid toner?
Start with 2 evenings a week for the first 2 weeks, then build up to every other night if your skin is comfortable. Most people don't need to use it daily.
How do I use it?
After cleansing at night, pat your skin dry and apply a few drops with a cotton pad, avoiding the eyes and lips. Follow with moisturiser, and wear sunscreen the next morning.
Is it safe to use in Pakistan's summer?
Yes, if you use it only at night and wear broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning. Glycolic acid can make skin more sensitive to the sun, so reapply sunscreen when you're outdoors.
Can I use it with niacinamide, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid or retinol?
Niacinamide and hyaluronic acid can be applied after the toner. Use vitamin C in the morning and the toner at night. Don't use retinol on the same night; alternate nights instead.
Does it help with dark spots and pigmentation?
It can help marks fade gradually by speeding up the shedding of old, darkened skin cells. Results usually show after 8 to 12 weeks, and daily sunscreen is essential.
What are the signs of irritation?
A light tingle for a minute is normal. Burning, redness that lasts, stinging or peeling mean you should use it less often or take a break for a few days.
Is it normal to see some peeling?
Light flaking in the first week or two can happen. Moisturise well and reduce use to once or twice a week until it settles. Never pick at peeling skin.
Can men use it?
Yes. It suits men's skin well, especially for oiliness, rough texture and ingrown hairs. Apply it at night, not straight after shaving.
Can I use it on my body, such as bumpy arms or underarms?
Yes. It can help smooth rough, bumpy arms (keratosis pilaris) and underarm skin. Use it 2 to 3 nights a week on clean, unbroken skin, never right after shaving or waxing.
When will I see results?
Most people feel smoother skin within 2 weeks. Brighter tone usually shows at 4 to 6 weeks, and dark spots take 8 to 12 weeks.
Is it safe during pregnancy?
Please check with your doctor before using any new active ingredient while pregnant or breastfeeding.
