Best Sunscreen in Pakistan With Price | Comparing Five Options

Sunscreen prices in Pakistan range from a few hundred rupees to well over six thousand, and the difference isn't always obvious from the label. We compared four popular options against our own to work out what you're actually paying for and what represents genuine value.
What Drives the Price Difference
Three things account for most of the gap between a Rs. 1,200 bottle and a Rs. 6,000 one:
- Bottle size. A 25g tube and a 120ml bottle get compared as if they're equivalent. They aren't per-application cost tells a very different story.
- Import vs local production. International brands carry shipping, duty, and distributor margins on top of their original retail price.
- Filter type. Mineral (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) and chemical filters behave differently on skin, and neither is automatically worth more.
Comparing the Options
| Product | Size | Price (PKR) | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Possible Sun Solution | 100ml | Rs. 1,499 | Hybrid (chemical + mineral) |
| Skin Aqua Clear White SPF 50+ | 25g | ~Rs. 2,055 | Chemical, imported |
| Bioderma Photoderm SPF 50+ | 40ml | ~Rs. 1,830–5,500 | Chemical, imported |
| CeraVe Hydrating Mineral SPF 50 | 75ml | ~Rs. 3,500–6,200 | Mineral, imported |
| Dermasation Hydrating Mineral | 120ml | Rs. 1,200 | Mineral, local |
Competitor prices are based on publicly listed retail prices at time of writing and vary by reseller and promotion.
Reading the Table Properly
Price alone doesn't settle this. What matters is cost per use, which depends on bottle size and here the gap is significant.
Skin Aqua's 25g tube is the smallest in the comparison by a wide margin, meaning it runs out far faster than the price suggests. Bioderma and CeraVe are both larger, but their imported pricing puts them at three to five times the cost of local options. Possible's 100ml at Rs. 1,499 is genuinely competitive the closest comparison to ours in this group.
Our Hydrating Mineral SPF 50 comes in at Rs. 1,200 for 120ml, which works out to the lowest cost per application of the five. That matters more than it sounds, because sunscreen only works if you apply enough of it and reapply through the day something people stop doing when a bottle feels expensive to replace.
Mineral or Chemical?
CeraVe and ours are mineral formulas. Skin Aqua and Bioderma are primarily chemical. Possible uses a hybrid of both.
Mineral filters sit on the skin's surface and reflect UV rays. They work immediately on application, tend to be gentler on reactive skin, and don't interact with actives like glycolic acid or retinol. Chemical filters absorb into skin and convert UV to heat often lighter in texture, but they need around twenty minutes to activate and can irritate sensitive skin.
Neither is universally better. If you use exfoliating actives at night or have easily irritated skin, mineral is usually the safer default.
SPF 50 or Higher?
An SPF 50 sunscreen blocks roughly 98% of UVB rays, which is the standard most dermatologists recommend for daily use. Every product in this comparison meets or exceeds that.
Where it gets more relevant is extended outdoor exposure. We also make an SPF 70 sunscreen at the same Rs. 1,200 price for people spending real time outdoors outdoor work, sports, or travel to northern Pakistan where UV intensifies at altitude. None of the other four options in this comparison offer an SPF above 50+ at this price point.
A Note on Sunscreen for Men
There's no formula difference required for sunscreen for men skin type matters, gender doesn't. What tends to matter more in practice is texture. Heavier, greasier formulas get abandoned quickly, which is why a lightweight, unscented option usually fits more easily into a simpler routine. All five products here are marketed as lightweight, though bottle size will still determine how sustainable daily use actually is.
Choosing a Sunscreen for Face Use
A sunscreen for face needs to be non-comedogenic and compatible with the rest of your routine body sunscreens often aren't. All five in this comparison are formulated for facial use. If you're acne-prone, the non-comedogenic label matters more than the SPF number.
The Honest Summary
Possible at Rs. 1,499 for 100ml is solid value and genuinely competitive. Skin Aqua and Bioderma are respected formulas, but the small sizes and import pricing make daily reapplication expensive. CeraVe's mineral formula is excellent it's simply priced as an import.
Ours works out cheapest per use in this group at Rs. 1,200 for 120ml, in both SPF 50 and SPF 70. Whether that makes it the right choice depends on whether you prefer a mineral formula and whether daily affordability is your priority.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which sunscreen is best value in Pakistan?
On cost per application, larger local bottles generally beat smaller imported tubes. Our 120ml at Rs. 1,200 is the lowest per-use cost in this comparison.
Is a more expensive sunscreen better?
Not necessarily. Much of the price gap on imported brands reflects shipping and distribution rather than formula quality.
Should I choose mineral or chemical?
Mineral is generally gentler and safer alongside exfoliating actives. Chemical formulas often feel lighter. Both work when applied properly.
Do I need SPF 70, or is 50 enough?
SPF 50 covers daily indoor-outdoor use. SPF 70 is worth it for extended time outdoors or during peak summer.
